Improved Inspection Initiative
Group in Oulu

i³GO is a research group developing and promoting sophisticated software inspection methods and tools. The i³ combines several ideas and techniques for tailoring inspection process to varying situations. Increasing the tailorability and flexibility of the process and alleviating its initiation in an organization are the main objectives of the i³GO activities.

The group consists of five researchers.

Professor, Ph.D. Ilkka Tervonen is leading the group.

Lecturer, Ph.D. Lasse Harjumaa studies the inspection process and methodologies for improving the process with the aid of specific improvement patterns.

Assistant Professor, Lic.Phil. Henrik Hedberg focuses on software inspection tools. The working title of his Ph.D. disseration is Computer Support for Distributed Software Inspection.

Lecturer, Lic.Phil. Juha Iisakka studies adoption of inspection into companies' software development. The working title of his Ph.D. work is approval of quality process.

Assistant Professor, M.Sc. Jouni Kokkoniemi studies knowledge management aspects of the inspection process. The working title of his Ph.D. dissertation is Supporting Inspecting with Quality-based Experience Knowledge.
